Dungeons & Dragons: Beholder 7" Resin Blank Art Figure by Kidrobot

The resin surface takes primer really well and the eye stalks are all molded cleanly, no bubbles or seams to sand. At 7 inches there's plenty of room to get detailed with the central eye. My only note is that it's heavier than I expected, so it sits solidly on the shelf.

I've been painting minis for years and this blank beholder is the perfect canvas. The detail on the eye stalks and central eye is surprisingly sharp for a 7-inch resin piece, so it takes washes and drybrushing really well. My only wish is that it came primed, but a quick coat fixed that.

The resin has a nice weight to it and takes primer without any prep sanding, which I didn't expect at this size. Seven inches gives you plenty of room to get creative with the eyestalks, and now I'm planning a whole colony in different color schemes.
